About the project
MeteoHealth is a personal health assistant for weather-sensitive people and anyone who wants to understand what actually affects how they feel. The app brings together weather, mood logs, and Apple Health data, then finds your personal patterns — with all analysis running right on the device.
The project has grown from a simple "weather → mood" tracker into a full ecosystem: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, widgets, Live Activities, and Siri shortcuts.
Who this app is for
Weather-sensitive people
Headaches when the pressure changes, fatigue on overcast days, sleepless nights in the heat — MeteoHealth shows which weather factors affect you specifically and warns you in advance.
People with chronic conditions
Migraines, hypertension, asthma, and other conditions often flare up in certain weather. The app tracks these patterns, and the PDF doctor report helps you discuss them at your appointment.
Athletes and active people
HRV-based recovery and strain indices tell you when your body is ready to train and when it's better to rest. Live workouts show up in the Dynamic Island and on Apple Watch.
Anyone who tracks their health
Water, sleep, nutrition, medications, stress — all in one place, with goals, achievements, and honest statistics instead of "magic" conclusions.
Key features
The Today screen
The main screen is built around the "energy battery" — a summary indicator of your state:
- Log your wellbeing in 30 seconds: water, sleep, mood, stress
- Smart "What matters now" prompts — what's worth doing right now
- Pinnable cards: arrange the screen your way
- Focus mode and daily statistics
Wellbeing forecasts
The statistical engine learns from your data and predicts your state 24 and 72 hours ahead:
- Personal baselines: the app knows what's normal for you
- Explained reasons: not just "high risk," but why
- Recommendations and warnings when the weather changes sharply
Honest analytics
No pseudoscience — real statistics under the hood:
- Pearson correlations and analysis of variance with exact p-values
- Multiple-comparison correction (Benjamini–Hochberg): random coincidences get filtered out
- Insights phrased in plain language
- Swift Charts graphs for the week, month, and year
HealthKit integration
The app reads heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), SpO₂, respiratory rate, VO₂ max, wrist temperature during sleep, sleep phases, workouts, and cycles — and writes water, caffeine, and State of Mind entries. If you don't have an Apple Watch, you can measure your heart rate with the iPhone camera using your fingertip.
Nutrition, water, and habits
- Food database and barcode scanner (Open Food Facts)
- Food recognition from photos and voice meal logging
- Macronutrients, calories, caffeine, alcohol
- Water reminders and medication tracking with impact analysis
Stress and recovery
- Baevsky stress index based on HRV
- Recovery and training strain indices
- Anomaly detection across multiple metrics at once
Women's health
Menstrual cycle tracking with insights into how it affects your wellbeing, a pregnancy mode, and history import from Flo.
The Apple ecosystem
Apple Watch
A full app: daily summary, quick logging from the wrist, breathing exercises, live workouts, and watch face complications — water and medications are added with one tap.
Widgets and Live Activities
Interactive Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets (iOS 17), real-time workouts in the Dynamic Island.
Siri and Shortcuts
Log mood, water, and sleep by voice via App Intents — "Hey Siri, log a glass of water."
Technical highlights
On-device analytics
The entire statistical engine runs locally:
- No health data ever leaves the device for analysis
- Predictions work offline
- The model adapts to you after just ~10 entries
CloudKit sync
A custom offline-first sync implementation over the user's private iCloud database: iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch always stay up to date, with no third-party server.
Weather data
Accurate OpenWeatherMap forecasts: hourly data for 72 hours, pressure, humidity, wind, and a 7-day comfort index.
Design and accessibility
- Five themes: light, dark, OLED, warm, and cool — plus seasonal themes
- Full VoiceOver and Dynamic Type support
- Localized into 6 languages: Russian, English, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic
Privacy
Your data is your business:
- Everything is stored locally and in your private iCloud
- No tracking, no third-party analytics, no data selling
- Analysis and predictions run on-device only
- During heart rate measurement, the camera processes frames in memory and never records anything
MeteoHealth is not a medical device and does not make diagnoses — the app helps you notice patterns and discuss them with a professional.
